Mohammad Rizwan Faces NCCIA Questions Over Phone Forensic Analysis Today
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter answered the agency's second notice, as investigators begin examining the phone taken from him in England last month.
Mohammad Rizwan – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter, appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on Friday. The agency wants to carry out a forensic examination of his mobile phone.
The phone has been in the agency’s custody since last month. Rizwan came after receiving a second notice asking for his cooperation in the process.
The notice was issued under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This section allows investigators to call a person to answer questions during an inquiry.
Sources say a four-member team will question the cricketer. The team includes one deputy director and three inspectors.
Geo News spoke to Rizwan as he arrived at the agency. He did not say what the inquiry was about. When reporters asked about the allegations, he gave a short reply: “Ask them.”
Earlier, Rizwan had written a letter to the agency. He asked for written details of the inquiry and wanted his phone returned.
He has also shared his side of the story. According to him, the phone was taken in England on August 31. He says he gave the password at that time.

Rizwan also says the device was checked in front of him. He added that officials had his unlocked phone when he appeared before the agency on September 10. That gave them a chance to read his messages and other material.
Agency sources say they contacted him several times and asked for his cooperation. People close to the cricketer say he wanted clear information about the proceedings. They add that he was talking to his lawyer.
The inquiry has been running for about a month. It started after the phone was taken during Pakistan’s Test tour of England.
Reports say the inquiry relates to online betting, gambling and the leaking of team information from the dressing room. These are only allegations, and no charge has been proven against the player.
The tour itself was a tough one for Pakistan. The team lost the three-match Test series 3-0.
For now, the forensic examination is the main step. Experts will study the phone’s data, and investigators will decide what to do next. The agency has not shared any final findings.
Fans are watching the case closely. Many want a clear and fair process, and they hope the facts come out soon.
Mohammad Rizwan is one of Pakistan’s most experienced players. His name has been in the news for his cricket for years, so this inquiry has drawn a lot of attention. Readers should wait for official statements before drawing any conclusion.
