Sohail Afridi Says Container City Will Not Stop PTI Workers

Sohail Afridi – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi says the federal capital has been turned into a “container city,” but he insists this will not push PTI workers to give up their movement.

Speaking to party workers in Charsadda, Afridi asked them to stay ready for a long political fight. He said PTI is preparing for its planned march toward Islamabad and the road ahead won’t be short.

“I am Imran Khan’s player, and workers should stay ready. This time, it will be a Test match,” Afridi told the crowd, using a cricket comparison to describe the scale of the struggle.

He also responded to Pashtun leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, who had called for a short protest. Afridi said Achakzai was talking about “a few overs,” while PTI workers were ready for a full T20 match.

The chief minister added that the political contest is not “fixed” and voiced confidence that his party will manage to secure Imran Khan’s release. He said he will keep fighting no matter the risk, even if it endangers his own life, calling the protest a constitutional and legal right.

During his Charsadda visit, Afridi also planned to meet the family of provincial minister Fazal Shakoor, who is reportedly missing. A petition seeking his recovery has been filed in the Peshawar High Court after his family claimed unidentified armed men took him away.
