Petrol, Diesel Prices Reduced Effective September 24 Under Pricing Mechanism

ISLAMABAD: (Finance Reporter) – The federal government has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, with the revised rates coming into effect from September 24, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs4.21 per litre, bringing it down from Rs418.96 to Rs414.75 per litre.

The price of petrol, or motor spirit, has also been cut by Rs1.93 per litre, decreasing from Rs392.05 to Rs390.12 per litre.

The Petroleum Division said the latest adjustments were made in line with changes in international petroleum prices, including fluctuations in Platts rates, premiums and other related costs.

The revised petroleum prices will remain effective from September 24, 2026, under the existing petroleum pricing mechanism.

The Petroleum Division has also listed the September 23 petroleum price notification among its latest official updates.
