Anwar Ibrahim Denies Pakistan Terror Link, Slams India’s Claim

Malaysian – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has pushed back against efforts by pro-government Indian media to connect Pakistan with terrorism, saying he has seen no proof backing such claims.

Ibrahim shared his views in a sit-down interview with NDTV. The talk took place on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, where world leaders gathered to discuss global issues.

During the conversation, the host first asked Ibrahim about Israel’s actions in Gaza. He did not hold back his words.

“Yes, it is state terrorism,” Ibrahim said, giving a clear and direct answer.

The interviewer then shifted the topic to the Pahalgam attack. This attack took place in April 2025 and left twenty-six people dead. The host tried to link the incident to Pakistan.

Ibrahim, however, did not agree with that framing. He said his own security team never told him that the Pakistani state had any role in terrorism.

He also added that no one had shown him proof linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack. His words made it clear that he was not ready to accept the claim without facts.

The attack happened in tourist areas of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It shocked many people and sparked tension between the two neighboring nations.

New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the attack soon after it happened. Yet Indian officials did not share any solid proof to support this claim.

Pakistan denied any role in the attack right away. Islamabad also asked for a fair and neutral investigation into the matter. This request aimed to bring out the true facts.

Tensions between the two countries grew quickly after the accusation. On May 6 and 7, India launched an attack on Pakistan without any warning.

Pakistan’s armed forces gave a strong and firm response. The conflict lasted eighty-seven hours in total, drawing global attention.

During this short but intense fight, Pakistan shot down eight Indian fighter jets. This list included French-made Rafale jets, seen as one of India’s top military assets.

Pakistan also brought down dozens of drones during the same period. These actions marked one of the most serious clashes between the two nations in recent years.

Ibrahim’s comments now add a new layer to the ongoing debate. His words show that not every world leader accepts India’s claims without question.

Many see his statement as a step toward fair and balanced global reporting. It also highlights the importance of solid proof before making serious accusations.
