ISLAMABAD: (Special Reporter) – Security forces killed 11 militants during separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on Thursday, according to sources.
Sources told 24News TV that the operations were conducted in Bannu and South Waziristan in KP, as well as Khuzdar district in Balochistan. Gunship helicopters were also deployed during one of the operations to target militant positions.
In Bannu, two militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation. Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the site, while explosives were used to demolish a militant hideout.
Meanwhile, five militants were killed in another operation in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, according to the sources.
In Khuzdar, security forces conducted an operation against militants identified by the sources as belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, killing four of them. Helicopters were used to strike the militants’ hideout during the operation.
The reported operations come as security forces continue intelligence-led actions against militant groups in different parts of the country.
