10 India-Backed Terrorists Killed in Two KP Operations: ISPR

KP – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Pakistani security forces have killed at least 10 India-backed terrorists during two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The military’s media wing, ISPR, shared the update on Friday.

The first clash took place on Thursday in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan. Militants tried to attack security checkposts there, but troops responded quickly and stopped the assault.

During the exchange of fire, eight terrorists were killed on the spot. Officials say the operation was carried out with precision and control.

A second clash happened the same day in Dir district. Two more terrorists were neutralised during this encounter.

Security teams recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants after both operations ended. Officials said these terrorists were linked to several attacks in the region.

After each clash, troops carried out sanitisation operations. This step ensures no other militants remain hiding nearby.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign. This mission aims to remove foreign-backed terrorism from Pakistani soil.

Since 2021, Pakistan has faced a sharp rise in militant attacks, especially in KP and Balochistan. This increase began after the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

Pakistani officials have long claimed that India supports armed groups operating from Afghan territory. These groups reportedly use Afghan soil to plan and launch cross-border attacks.

Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Afghan interim government to act against these networks. So far, concerns remain over insufficient action from across the border.

A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies sheds light on the scale of unrest. It shows that KP and Balochistan remain the two most affected provinces.

Together, these two regions accounted for almost 96 percent of all violence-linked deaths in the second quarter of 2026. KP alone recorded over 61 percent of these fatalities.

Balochistan followed with about 34 percent of the deaths during the same period. The report highlights growing militant activity concentrated mainly in these two provinces.

In terms of incidents, KP recorded 151 violent events, making up more than half of the national total. Balochistan came next with 94 incidents.

These numbers show that both provinces remain key hotspots for security threats in Pakistan. Authorities continue to stress the need for stronger regional cooperation to curb cross-border militancy.
