OPEC+ Set to Increase Oil Output in September
Saudi Arabia, Russia Lead Expected OPEC+ Oil Production Increase
Riyadh: (News Desk) – Saudi Arabia, Russia, and five other OPEC+ members are expected to raise their oil production quotas for September as the group continues adjusting output levels amid global energy market disruptions.
Analysts expect the alliance to increase production by around 188,000 barrels per day, marking another step in reversing previous supply cuts. The move would complete the second phase of OPEC+’s three-part plan to restore production after major reductions introduced between 2022 and 2023.
However, experts note that several members are struggling to meet their official targets due to declining production capacity and ongoing geopolitical challenges. Russia’s output has been affected by attacks on energy infrastructure, while Middle East tensions continue to impact regional oil exports.
Analysts say OPEC+ may face difficult discussions over future production quotas, though the group’s unity remains stable for now despite recent changes, including the UAE’s decision to leave the alliance.
