Pakistan Faces West Indies In Crucial Second Test

ISLAMABAD: (Sports Desk) – After suffering a heavy defeat in the opening match, Pakistan will return to action against the West Indies in the second and final Test of the series at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, starting Sunday, August 2, 2026.

The decisive encounter carries added importance as both teams compete for valuable World Test Championship points. The contest is expected to be another intense battle, particularly between two talented pace attacks.

In the first Test, West Indies scored 311 in their opening innings, with Shai Hope contributing 92 and Kavem Hodge adding 84. Pakistan replied with 282, led by Shan Masood’s impressive century, but Justin Greaves’ five-wicket haul restricted their progress.

Pakistan fought back strongly when Mohammad Abbas dismantled the West Indies batting lineup with figures of 5 for 22, setting the visitors a target of 211 runs. However, Jayden Seales delivered a match-winning spell of 5 for 20 as Pakistan were bowled out for just 120, giving West Indies a convincing 90-run victory.

Pakistan’s bowling attack remains a major strength, with their fast bowlers capable of troubling the hosts. The key challenge for the visitors will be improving their batting performance, especially in difficult overseas conditions.
