Pakistan, Iran reaffirm commitment to regional security and border cooperation

RAWALPINDI: (Special Reporter) – Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held a key meeting with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss regional security, bilateral cooperation and border management, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on regional and bilateral security as well as effective border management between Pakistan and Iran.

During the meeting, Momeni appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to reduce regional tensions and praised its diplomatic role in promoting peace and stability across the region. He described Pakistan as an important pillar of regional stability and acknowledged its constructive contribution to dialogue and de-escalation.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and enhancing cooperation to address shared security challenges.

ISPR said Pakistan and Iran also agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation to promote mutual prosperity, regional peace and long-term stability.
