Fatima Sana Earns Spot in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament

Fatima Sana Named in ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament

ICC Women’s T2 – (Web Desk) – The ICC has released its ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament, and Pakistan captain Fatima Sana has won a well-deserved spot. Her strong all-round play with both bat and ball made her one of the top performers of the whole event.

The final list has 12 players from eight different countries. It shows how wide the talent pool was during this year’s tournament.

World champions Australia lead the group with four players. Their runners-up, England, placed two players in the side. This shows just how strong both teams were from start to finish.

Pakistan, India, South Africa, Ireland, and Sri Lanka each got one player picked. Scotland’s Darcey Carter rounded out the squad as the twelfth member.

The full list includes Australia’s Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Ash Gardner, and captain Sophie Molineux. England added Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Nat Sciver-Brunt to the mix.

Other names on the list are Pakistan’s Fatima Sana, India’s Sree Charani, South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp, Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, and Sri Lanka’s Nilakshika Silva.

For Pakistan fans, Fatima Sana’s selection was one of the biggest highlights. Even though her team won just one match in this 12-team event, she still gave everything on the field.

She finished the tournament with 11 wickets across five matches, at a brilliant average of 11.27. She also scored 85 runs with the bat, proving she was a true match-winner for her side.

The ICC called her the “beating heart” of the Pakistan team. That phrase fits, especially after her performance against South Africa.

In that game, Pakistan slipped to 50 runs for 8 wickets. Fatima Sana walked in and smashed an unbeaten 55, then picked up 3 wickets for just 16 runs. Her effort nearly pulled off a stunning win.

She also took 3 wickets for 12 runs against the Netherlands, helping Pakistan win by 37 runs in their final group match.

England’s Danni Wyatt-Hodge ended the tournament as the top run-scorer, with 302 runs. India’s Sree Charani finished as the leading wicket-taker, picking up 14 wickets in total.

Australia’s Beth Mooney, who scored 238 runs and played key roles in both knockout games, was named Player of the Tournament.
