Fresh HIV Case in Karachi’s Pathan Colony Sparks Health Concerns

KARACHI: (Web Desk) – A three-year-old child from Pathan Colony has tested positive for HIV, adding to growing concerns over the increasing number of infections reported in the area.

According to medical reports, the child underwent HIV screening using three separate testing kits, with all tests confirming the presence of the virus.

The parents have alleged that negligence during treatment at the hospital may have contributed to their child’s infection. However, these claims have not been independently verified, and no official investigation has yet established the source or cause of the infection.

Hospital sources said that 107 children in Pathan Colony have so far been diagnosed with HIV, while nine deaths linked to the disease have reportedly been recorded in the area.

Health authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the latest case or the allegations made by the child’s family.
