SC Approves 100 Percent Utility Allowance Increase
New Allowance Structure Announced for SC Employees
The approval was granted by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, with the revised allowances scheduled to take effect from July 1, 2026, according to reports.
Under the new structure, employees in Grades 1 to 6 will now receive a monthly utility allowance of Rs12,000, compared to the previous Rs6,000. For Grades 7 to 10, the allowance has been increased from Rs8,000 to Rs16,000.

Staff in Grades 11 to 15 will receive Rs20,000 instead of Rs10,000, while Grade 16 officers will now get Rs24,000, up from Rs12,000. Grade 17 officers will see their allowance rise from Rs15,000 to Rs30,000.
Similarly, Grade 18 officers will receive Rs36,000, up from Rs18,000, while Grade 19 officers’ allowance has been increased from Rs21,000 to Rs42,000. For Grade 20 officers, the amount has been doubled from Rs24,000 to Rs48,000.
Senior officers in Grade 21 and above will now receive Rs60,000 per month, compared with the earlier Rs30,000.
The allowance is intended to cover utility-related expenses, including gas and electricity bills.
According to the decision, the additional financial burden will be met through the Supreme Court’s approved budget for the fiscal year 2026–27.
