Heat-Stricken Cities Cool Down After Heavy Rain and Hail
Islamabad – (Web Desk) – Heavy rain and hail brought much-needed relief to heat-stricken Islamabad and several parts of the country early Thursday morning. The temperature dropped sharply after the downpour, giving residents a welcome break from the scorching heat.
Hailstorms were also reported in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain was recorded in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Mansehra, Balakot and Kaghan Valley.
Lahore, however, stayed dry. The Met Office said there is no chance of rain in the city in the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 53 percent.
Karachi continues to face hot and humid conditions. The temperature is likely to touch 37 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. Humidity in the city stood at 75 percent in the morning, making the heat feel even more intense.
The Met Office has forecast more rain for Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Gujranwala and Gujrat in the coming hours. Rain is also expected in KP, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, where there are fears of landslides.
Sindh and Balochistan will remain hot and dry.
