Meera Sparks Debate With Bold Gen Z Challenge
Actress Meera Questions Gen Z Talent in Pakistani Entertainment Industry
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistani actress Meera has triggered fresh debate in the entertainment industry after openly challenging Generation Z performers and claiming younger actors cannot match the experience and talent of senior film stars.
Speaking during an appearance on “A Podcast,” Meera reflected on her long career in Pakistani cinema, discussing memorable film projects, industry friendships, and the evolving landscape of showbiz.
The actress fondly recalled working with Babar Ali in the film Khoye Ho Tum Kahan, describing the experience as enjoyable and filled with fun moments behind the scenes.
She also spoke about her professional relationships with senior artists including Samina Pirzada, Usman Pirzada, Zeeshan Sikandar, and Humayun Saeed, highlighting her deep roots in Pakistan’s film industry.
Meera shared that the film Antaha was her first collaboration with Humayun Saeed and described it as a significant moment in her acting career.
Controversial remarks by Dr Umar Adil on actress Nargis spark online debate
During the interview, the actress made strong remarks directed at younger performers, saying modern-day actors and content creators should improve their acting abilities before comparing themselves to veteran stars.
“Gen Z can’t compete with me,” Meera said, insisting that experience and dedication remain the true benchmarks of artistic excellence.
She also encouraged young artists to watch films like Psycho and prove whether they could deliver performances of a comparable standard.
Referring to veteran actor Shaan Shahid, she added, “Compete with Meera and Shaan. I want you to compete with us, and we will enjoy the challenge.”
Her remarks have reignited discussions about the widening generational gap within Pakistan’s entertainment industry, where traditional film stars and digital-era creators often represent different approaches to fame and performance.
While Meera emphasised the importance of experience, legacy, and cinematic craft, younger actors and influencers continue reshaping the industry through streaming platforms, social media, and digital productions.
The actress’s comments quickly went viral online, drawing mixed reactions from fans and industry observers. Some supported her stance on maintaining high artistic standards, while others defended the emerging generation of performers and their growing influence in modern entertainment.
