Streaming platform Netflix has released its global viewership rankings for original films in 2026, revealing that the science-fiction war thriller War Machine has emerged as the most-watched title of the year so far.
According to Netflix’s Global Top 10 data, War Machine has amassed over 128.4 million views worldwide, making it the platform’s biggest original film success of 2026 to date. The film, starring Alan Ritchson, recorded a strong debut with 39.3 million views in its first week.
Momentum continued in its second week, when the movie added 44.4 million more views, a performance that industry analysts described as one of the strongest weekly gains for any Netflix release this year.

In second place, the crime thriller The Rip reached 114.7 million views. Featuring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the film achieved the highest opening weekend of the year with 41.6 million views, setting a strong commercial benchmark.
The survival thriller Apex secured third position with 105.2 million views. Starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton, the film maintained consistent popularity and remained on Netflix’s trending lists for several weeks.
In fourth place, the shark disaster film Thrash earned 86.1 million views, with Phoebe Dynevor receiving particular praise for her performance. The animated fantasy Swapped followed in fifth position with 80.6 million views, featuring voice roles by Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple.
Rounding out the list, the romantic comedy People We Meet on Vacation attracted 54.3 million views, while Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man secured 50.6 million views, highlighting continued global interest in franchise-based content.
