ISPR National Security Strategic Leadership Workshop 2026 Brings Academia and Military Together on Regional Security
ISPR – (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s military media wing, ISPR, organized the ISPR National Security Strategic Leadership Workshop 2026, bringing together academic leaders from across the country under one roof to discuss critical national security issues.
The workshop saw an impressive turnout. Vice-chancellors, registrars, deans, and senior professors from more than 200 universities participated. It was one of the largest academic-military engagements in recent memory.
A key highlight of the event was a special session led by Lieutenant General (retd) Amir Riaz. He spoke openly about the growing crisis of minority rights in neighboring India, raising serious concerns that caught wide attention.
Amir Riaz said that the persecution of minorities in India is no longer an isolated issue. He described it as a deepening and persistent pattern that continues to grow more alarming with each passing year.
He pointed out a sharp contradiction in India’s global image. While India presents itself as a secular democracy on the world stage, minorities inside the country — especially Muslims — face cruelty and brutality on a daily basis.
Most strikingly, Amir Riaz said these atrocities do not happen without backing. He stated that attacks against minorities in India carry full support and sanction from both the government and the judiciary, making justice nearly impossible for victims.
The workshop participants appreciated ISPR’s initiative in creating a platform where academia and the armed forces could engage meaningfully on matters of national and regional importance.
