ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The federal government has eased restrictions on business operating hours, allowing shops and markets to remain open later than previously permitted.
Under a fresh notification, all shops, bazaars, commercial markets, and shopping malls will be exempt from the 8 pm closing rule until May 31. The decision overrides the earlier directive issued on April 6 and takes effect immediately.

Essential service providers, including bakeries, tandoors, restaurants, grocery stores, and shops selling food and daily necessities, have also been granted relief under the revised schedule.
In Islamabad, markets will now operate without time restrictions throughout the week, ensuring extended commercial activity. Meanwhile, the provincial government of Punjab had already relaxed similar restrictions until June 1 in view of Eid-ul-Azha preparations.
Authorities stated that the move aims to facilitate public convenience and support business activity during the festive period.
