Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Announces Eid-ul-Adha On May 27 Nationwide

KARACHI: (Web Desk) – Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced that the moon of Zil-Hijjah has been sighted in Pakistan, confirming that Eid-ul-Adha will be observed across the country on May 27.

A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad to review moon sighting reports from different parts of the country.

Members of the central and zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees, along with experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and SUPARCO, attended the session.

Separate meetings of zonal moon sighting committees were also conducted in Islamabad and other provincial capitals to collect testimonies regarding the crescent sighting.

Following the meeting, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced during a press conference that the Zil-Hijjah moon had been sighted successfully. He confirmed that Monday will mark the first day of Zil-Hijjah in Pakistan, while Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated nationwide on Wednesday, May 27.

According to sources, two members of the committee personally observed the crescent during the central committee meeting.

Officials also received three testimonies from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A zonal committee member stated that two witnesses from Mardan, identified as Muhammad and Ahmad, reported sighting the moon, while another testimony was received from Peshawar.
