MOSCOW: (Web Desk) – Vladimir Putin is set to visit China on May 19 for a two-day official trip, shortly after US President Donald Trump concluded his visit to Beijing.
According to the Kremlin, Putin will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership and long-term cooperation between Moscow and Beijing. The two leaders are also expected to exchange views on major international and regional developments before signing a joint declaration.
During the visit, Putin is additionally scheduled to meet Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss economic collaboration and trade ties between the two countries.
The timing of the trip has drawn attention following Trump’s high-profile Beijing visit, where discussions covered trade relations, the ongoing Ukraine conflict, and tensions involving Iran. However, no major diplomatic breakthrough appeared to emerge from the US-China talks.
