Karachi Police Questioned Over Pinky Court Appearance

Court Sends Drug Suspect Pinky To Jail On Judicial Remand

KARACHI: (Web Desk) – Questions have emerged regarding the conduct of Karachi police after a woman accused in a high-profile narcotics case, identified as Anmol alias Pinky, was brought before a local court on Tuesday without handcuffs and reportedly without female police officials present.

The accused was presented in connection with a drug case registered at Garden Police Station. Witnesses at the court said the investigating officer remained close to the suspect throughout the proceedings while she moved freely inside the premises.

The court appearance attracted attention because the accused was allegedly not restrained and no female personnel were visibly accompanying her, raising concerns over possible violations of police procedures.

During the hearing, police sought a 14-day physical remand, claiming that two packets of hashish and other narcotics worth more than Rs1.5 million had been recovered from the suspect’s possession.

However, the court denied the request for physical custody and instead ordered that the accused be shifted to jail on judicial remand.

After the matter surfaced publicly, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan took notice and directed the DIG South to submit a detailed report explaining why the accused was presented without handcuffs.

The senior police officer also ordered an inquiry into the conduct of the officials involved, warning that any breach of law or standard operating procedures would not be tolerated and disciplinary action could follow if negligence was proven.

Meanwhile, an alleged audio recording linked to Anmol alias Pinky began circulating on social media after her court appearance. In the clip, a woman purportedly mocks attempts to arrest her and claims that people lack the intelligence to compete with her influence.

Authorities have not yet verified whether the viral audio recording is authentic.
