Pakistan collapse as Bangladesh secure 104-run Test victory in Mirpur

DHAKA: (Web Desk) – Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first Test match in Mirpur after bowling out the visitors for 163 in their second innings while chasing a target of 268 runs.

Pakistan struggled throughout the chase and lost wickets at regular intervals. The team suffered an early setback at just three runs, while Azan Owais was dismissed for 15. Captain Shan Masood managed only two runs as the batting lineup failed to build partnerships under pressure.

Abdullah Fazal was the top scorer for Pakistan with 66 runs, while Salman Agha contributed 26. Saud Shakeel scored 15, Hassan Khan added 12, Hasan Ali made one run, and Noman Ali was dismissed after scoring four.

Earlier, Bangladesh declared their second innings at 240 for 9 on the fifth day of the match. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto played a key role with an innings of 87, while Mominul Haque added 56 runs.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Noman Ali claimed three wickets each, while Shaheen Shah Afridi took two and Mohammad Abbas picked up one wicket.

Despite the defeat, Noman Ali achieved a personal milestone by completing 100 wickets in Test cricket.

Pakistan had won the toss and elected to field first. Bangladesh posted 413 runs in the first innings, while Pakistan replied with 386 before eventually falling short in the final innings chase.
