Lahore Sees Sharp Rise In Flour Prices Across Markets
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Flour prices in Lahore have surged sharply by around Rs700 per maund as wheat flour from the new harvest begins entering the market, according to a Sunday report.
Market data indicates that flour mills and retailers have significantly increased rates, pushing wheat flour prices above Rs4,300 per maund, compared to approximately Rs3,500 earlier.
In the retail market, the price of a 10-kilogram flour bag has climbed to Rs1,080, while a 15-kilogram bag is now selling for Rs1,600. A 20-kilogram bag has reached Rs2,130, reflecting a broad upward trend across all packaging sizes.

Sources in the market say the sudden price hike has caused concern among consumers, as rising food inflation continues to strain household budgets.
Although flour mills have started supplying wheat flour from the new crop, prices remain under pressure in both wholesale and retail markets, with no immediate signs of stabilization.
