Monkeypox cases rise to 33 in Lahore health alert

Lahore: (Web Desk) – Health authorities have confirmed another case of monkeypox, bringing the total number of infections in the city to 33, officials said on Wednesday.

According to health department sources, an 18-year-old patient, identified as Rehan, has tested positive for the virus. The new case has heightened concerns among medical authorities, who are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further spread.

At Mayo Hospital Lahore, seven patients are currently being treated in isolation. Of these, four cases have been confirmed, while three suspected patients are awaiting test results.

Hospital officials said strict isolation and monitoring protocols have been implemented, with medical staff instructed to maintain heightened vigilance to contain any potential transmission.

Health authorities continue to assess the evolving situation and say that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure patient care and public safety.
