Pakistan launches Hajj flights from Karachi, Lahore
First Hajj flights depart Pakistan with hundreds of pilgrims onboard
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s pre-Hajj flight operations officially began on Saturday, with two flights carrying hundreds of pilgrims departing for Saudi Arabia from Karachi and Lahore.
The first flight, operated by AirSial, departed from Jinnah International Airport in the early hours of the morning. Flight PF-7700 transported 160 pilgrims to Mecca as part of the initial phase of the Hajj operation.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, enhanced immigration services have been introduced under the Route to Mecca initiative, allowing pilgrims to complete Saudi immigration procedures before departure.
Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi was present at the airport to bid farewell to the pilgrims, while officials reviewed arrangements and facilities provided to travelers.

Later in the day, another flight operated by Saudia departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport, carrying 345 pilgrims to Medina.
The departure ceremony in Lahore was attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, Provincial Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, and Federal Secretary Ibrar Ahmad Mirza, among other senior officials.
Authorities expressed satisfaction over the arrangements, noting that improved facilities aim to ensure a smoother and more comfortable journey for pilgrims traveling to perform Hajj.
