RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) – Security agencies in Pakistan have arrested three individuals accused of spying for India’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing during a targeted intelligence operation, officials said. The suspects are reported to be from Narowal, Bahawalpur, and Neelum District in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to initial investigations, the alleged network was built through social media platforms, where operatives reportedly used “honey-trap” tactics to lure individuals and extract sensitive information. Authorities claim the suspects were influenced through financial incentives and online contact with individuals allegedly linked to foreign handlers.

Investigators further stated that payments were allegedly transferred through digital channels, including mobile wallets, bank accounts, and cryptocurrency platforms. During questioning, the accused reportedly admitted to maintaining contact with individuals they believed were associated with foreign intelligence sources.
Security officials say strict action has been taken under national security laws, including provisions of the Official Secrets Act. Authorities emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward activities deemed harmful to national interests.
Defense analysts argue that hostile intelligence networks frequently exploit social media users through manipulation and financial inducement, urging citizens to remain cautious when interacting with unknown contacts online. Public awareness campaigns are also being reinforced to counter such threats.
