Pakistan and China Launch Information Corridor to Shape Regional Narrative
Pakistan and China are building more than roads — they are now building a shared story.
Pakistan & China – (Web Desk) – Pakistan took a meaningful step forward today in strengthening how it communicates its partnership with China, advancing plans for the China-Pakistan Information Corridor (CPIC) — a platform designed to tell the story of bilateral cooperation more clearly and effectively.
The meeting, led by Dr. Shazra Mansab, Minister of State for Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, brought together senior voices from government, media, and key institutions, all focused on one shared goal: making sure the Pakistan-China partnership is understood, trusted, and felt by people on both sides.
“Today, partnerships are built not just on roads and investment, but on stories, trust, and shared understanding,” said Dr. Shazra Mansab. “The CPIC is our commitment to making sure that story is told well.”
The gathering included representatives from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan Television, Press Information Department, ISPR, CPEC Authority, Pakistan-China Institute, and the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.
One of the biggest decisions of the day was setting up a CPIC Secretariat inside the External Publicity Wing of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting — a real, concrete home for the initiative to grow from. Specialized working groups covering media, think tanks, businesses, and youth engagement were also approved to push things forward on the ground.
Ideas on the table included a Pakistan-China Media Forum, influencer exchange programmes, joint documentary projects, and digital platforms to spark genuine public conversations.
With this being the third round of engagements between Pakistani and Chinese stakeholders, the momentum is clearly building. At a time when narratives shape the world as much as policies do, the CPIC is Pakistan’s way of making sure its most important partnership is not just active — but visible, understood, and valued.
