Araqchi emphasized that Iranian operations targeted locations where US forces or their installations were present. While some strikes occurred near urban centers, the resulting damage and suffering to local populations were a consequence of the US deployment. He also held Washington fully accountable for initiating the conflict on February 28 and for the subsequent attacks affecting Gulf civilians.
