PM Shehbaz meets Saudi crown prince over Iran war tensions

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirm strong friendship as leaders discuss regional issues and future cooperation during Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Jeddah.

Pakistan & KSA – (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah on Thursday. The meeting focused on regional issues and the strong ties between the two countries.

The prime minister was joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir. At the start of the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif shared warm wishes for Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He also thanked Saudi Arabia for its long support to Pakistan.

During the discussion, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan stands fully with Saudi Arabia in difficult times. He assured the Kingdom that Islamabad will continue to support its close friend and partner.

Both leaders talked about the latest developments in the region. They agreed to keep working together to support peace and stability. The prime minister said Pakistan will always stand by Saudi Arabia and will keep supporting efforts for a peaceful and stable region.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on a brief official visit to Saudi Arabia on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Upon arrival at the Royal Terminal of the Jeddah International Airport, the prime minister was received by Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, Consul General in Jeddah Syed Mustafa Rabbani and other diplomatic officials were also present to welcome him.
