Lahore: (Web Desk)- The Punjab Police has witnessed large-scale transfers and postings following the appointment of the new Inspector General of Police. Newly appointed IG Punjab Rao Abdul Karim has reportedly refused to entertain political recommendations, signaling a strict merit-based approach.

According to the notification issued, several District Police Officers (DPOs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and other senior officers have been transferred and posted across the province.

Key appointments include Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi as DPO Okara, Captain (R) Dost Muhammad as DPO Sialkot, Sajid Hussain Khokhar as DPO Jhang, Arsalan Zahid as DPO Nankana Sahib, Muhammad Waqar Azim as DPO Mianwali, and Muhammad Abid as DPO Khanewal. Ikhlaq Ullah Taarar has been posted as DPO Toba Tek Singh, while Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry has been appointed DPO Jhelum.

In other postings, Muhammad Tariq Aziz has been appointed SSP Special Branch Lahore Region, and Syed Imran Karamat Bukhari has been posted as SP Intelligence, Special Branch Punjab. Farooq Sultan has been appointed AIG Admin and Security at the Central Police Office Punjab, while Ismail ur Rehman has taken charge as AIG Complaints CPO Punjab.

Ahmad Mohiuddin, Faisal Shehzad, and Ibadat Nisar have been directed to report to the Central Police Office Punjab. Muhammad Rashid has been appointed SSP Intelligence CTD Punjab. Captain (R) Muhammad Ajmal has been posted as AIG Operations South Punjab, while Faraz Ahmed has been appointed AIG Research and Development CPO Punjab.

Additionally, Captain (R) Bilal Iftikhar has been posted as SSP PHP Gujranwala, Abdul Wahab as SSP Investigation and Inspection CCD Punjab, and Waseem Akhtar as Chief Traffic Officer Gujranwala. Ayesha Butt has been appointed SP Headquarters Elite Police Force Punjab. Farooq Ahmed Anwar has been posted as SP RIB Sahiwal Region, and Mahmood Haroon as SP Internal Accountability Branch Sahiwal Region.
