UK High Court Overturns Ban on Palestine Action
Court Declares UK Government’s Palestine Action Ban Illegal
London – (Mirza Aftab Baig) Britain’s High Court has ruled that the UK government acted unlawfully in banning the protest group Palestine Action group under terrorism laws.
Judges found the decision was disproportionate and interfered with fundamental rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. While some of the group’s actions were controversial, the court said the overall activities did not justify proscription as a terrorist organisation. The ruling is a significant victory for civil liberties campaigners.

The government has expressed disappointment and is expected to appeal. For now, the case highlights ongoing tensions between national security powers and the right to protest in the UK.
