Balochistan to Launch Health Insurance Scheme for Govt Employees

Quetta (Web Desk/ Our Correspondent) – The Balochistan government is set to launch a landmark health insurance policy for public sector employees, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced during a high-level review meeting in Quetta.
The meeting reviewed progress on the insurance scheme and rehabilitation efforts at Civil Hospital Quetta and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital.
Senior provincial officials, including ministers and secretaries from health, finance, and planning departments, attended the session.

CM Bugti directed authorities to finalize arrangements for the official launch on March 7, 2026.
Under the new policy, each government employee will receive medical coverage of up to Rs1 million at leading hospitals nationwide.
The chief minister said the initiative aims to reduce financial pressure on employees and ensure timely access to quality healthcare.
Bugti also instructed the Health Department to speed up rehabilitation work at the two major hospitals in Quetta and establish a dedicated mechanism to oversee restoration efforts, emphasizing the need to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the province.
