Punjab celebrates Basant with new anthem, public holidays, cultural events, colourful kites, and strict safety arrangements across Lahore districts nationwide
Punjab – (Web Desk) – The Punjab government has unveiled a lively anthem ahead of Lahore’s upcoming three-day Basant celebrations. The song, titled Phir Aai Basant (Basant is back), was released by the Punjab Information and Culture Department and shared on Alhamra Lahore’s official Instagram page.
Promoted as part of preparations for Punjab’s most eagerly awaited cultural festival, the anthem is sung and composed by popular artist Bilal Saeed. Its music video features model and actor Nabeel Zubairi along with food blogger Ali Rehman, and showcases Lahore’s historic charm, including old city streets and the famous picture wall of Lahore Fort.
The Basant festival is set to begin on February 6 in Lahore. However, celebrations will be limited in certain areas near Lahore Airport due to safety measures.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a Basant celebration at Liberty Chowk on February 7.
Moreover, public holiday has been announced across the province on February 6 and 7, according to an official notification issued by the Punjab administration.
Lahore has been swept in colours as the Basant preparations peaked, with a giant kite installed at Liberty Chowk as part of the celebrations.
