World Bank President visits ancestral home praises interfaith harmony

LAHORE: (Web Desk)- World Bank President Ajay Pal Singh Banga visited his ancestral home in Khushab during his trip to Pakistan, where he was warmly received by Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Qamar Zaman, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq, senior district officials, and representatives of the police and civil administration.

During the visit, Ajay Banga paid homage at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Khushab, which is managed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board. He reviewed the renovation work, cleanliness, and overall administrative arrangements at the Gurdwara. He also examined historical revenue records related to his ancestors and had photographs taken at the site.

World Bank President Praises Preservation of Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib

The World Bank President appreciated the development initiatives and management of the Gurdwara, commending the Evacuee Trust Property Board for its efforts in preserving Sikh religious heritage. Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq briefed him on ongoing measures for the restoration of Sikh holy sites and the facilities being provided to Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan.

Chairman ETPB Qamar Zaman presented special souvenirs to Ajay Banga and said that the Board is committed to protecting religious heritage in accordance with international standards. He added that ensuring religious freedom, interfaith harmony, and hospitality for Sikh pilgrims remains a top priority of the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

The visit was seen as a positive reflection of Pakistan’s commitment to religious freedom and interfaith harmony.
