The prosecution requested a seven-day physical remand for the accused, which the court rejected. Instead, Judge Zulqarnain ordered both Mazari and Ali to be placed on a 14-day judicial remand.

Following the hearing, the court issued a judicial remand order, and the couple was sent to jail for two weeks.

The previous day, Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali were arrested while being escorted from the Islamabad High Court Bar to the District Court. They were later presented via video link before the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad, where Judge Afzal Majoka conducted the proceedings.

During the session, Judge Majoka asked if they were ready for cross-examination. Iman Mazari responded by alleging mistreatment in custody, including denial of food and water, and stated that they were boycotting the judicial proceedings. The judge advised them to wait for the decision. Both Mazari and Ali left the courtroom before the session concluded. The judge instructed the court staff to record all proceedings for the official record.
