Fourteen Dead, Several Injured in Sargodha Fog Tragedy

SARGODHA: (Wed Besk) – At least 14 people lost their lives and nine others, including women and children, sustained critical injuries after a passenger mini-truck plunged into the Ghalapur Bangla canal in Sargodha early Saturday morning.

The tragic incident occurred in Kot Momin amid dense fog that severely reduced visibility, making road conditions extremely hazardous. The Mazda mini-truck, carrying 23 passengers, was travelling from Faisalabad to Islamabad when it veered off the road and fell into the canal.

According to rescue officials, the driver had opted for an alternative route after the Sargodha Motorway was closed due to heavy fog. All the victims belonged to the same family and were reportedly heading to attend a funeral.
