NHMP Releases 2025 Performance Report Highlighting Key Achievements
The NHMP reported 690 traffic accidents in 2025, including 349 fatal and 341 non-fatal incidents.
ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has released its 2025 performance report, showcasing significant achievements in public safety, traffic management, and law enforcement.
According to the report, over 18,000 travelers received emergency assistance and timely medical aid, while more than 5.4 million people were guided through the toll-free helpline 130. The NHMP issued 18,500 driving licenses, 103 CE-category licenses, and 1,480 international driving permits.
A total of 2,674 road safety awareness programs were conducted to educate the public on safe driving practices. Lost valuables—including gold jewelry, 186 mobile phones, 48 wallets, and 331 other items—were recovered and returned to their owners. Additionally, 48 stolen and 17 non-custom-paid vehicles were recovered and handed over to authorities, while 169 missing children were safely reunited with their families.
Seventy dangerous criminals were apprehended, with confiscated items including 29 illegal weapons, 1,349 rounds of ammunition, 309 kilograms of narcotics, 2,450 liters of alcohol, and over 10,000 cartons of non-custom-paid cigarettes. Seven smuggling attempts and six robbery incidents were successfully foiled.

In total, over 13.2 million challans were issued for traffic violations, and FIRs were registered against more than 11,000 drivers during campaigns against overspeeding and serious traffic offenses. The NHMP reported 690 traffic accidents in 2025, including 349 fatal and 341 non-fatal incidents.
The report also highlighted NHMP’s continued efforts to engage the public through social media, FM-95 radio updates, and monthly open courts (Khuli Katcheries) to address citizen grievances.
The NHMP emphasized that its mission remains ensuring safe and dignified travel for all citizens while enforcing laws impartially and providing high standards of public service.
