NCCIA arrests suspect for blackmailing minor in Peshawar

Peshawar – The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a man accused of blackmailing a minor using inappropriate video footage in Peshawar. Officials said the suspect, identified as Abdul Wakeel from Bajaur, was detained during a raid carried out in the Naran area of Hayatabad by the NCCIA team

Authorities said the suspect had allegedly recorded an obscene video of a minor child and later used it to blackmail the victim.

Following the arrest, a case has been registered at the Cyber Crime Circle, Peshawar.

This is the first case of the year to be registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Act 2025.
