At least four security personnel were martyred and 15 civilians injured after terrorists backed by Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the outer perimeter of a security forces camp in the general area of Boya in North Waziristan district on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attackers attempted to breach the camp’s perimeter but were promptly engaged by troops deployed at the site.
The ISPR said that after failing to penetrate the security cordon, the terrorists detonated an explosive-laden vehicle at the outer wall, causing its collapse and resulting in significant damage to nearby civilian infrastructure, including a mosque.
The explosion also caused injuries to at least 15 civilians, including women and children, and damaged several houses in the surrounding area.
The ISPR said that security forces responded swiftly and effectively, engaging the intruders and killing all four terrorists during an exchange of fire.
However, during the intense firefight, four soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending the post. The martyrs were identified as Havildar Muhammad Waqas (42), a resident of Kotli district; Naik Khanwaiz (38), a resident of Mansehra district; Sepoy Sufyan Haider (25), a resident of Vehari district and Sepoy Riffat (32), a resident of Layyah district.
The ISPR said that the attack was planned and orchestrated by Afghanistan-based Khwarij, contradicting claims by the Afghan Taliban authorities that no terrorist groups are operating from their soil.
Pakistan has urged the interim Afghan government to fulfil its obligations and prevent the use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan reserves the right to pursue and eliminate Khawarij militants along with their facilitators and affiliates to ensure the safety and security of its people.
