Pakistan Cricketers Likely to Miss Full BPL Due to National Duties
Most of the players selected for the BPL are also part of Pakistan’s national squad, which makes it difficult for them to play the entire tournament.
Islamabad: Pakistan’s cricket players are unlikely to participate fully in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) due to their commitments with the national team.
According to sources, most of the players selected for the BPL are also part of Pakistan’s national squad, which makes it difficult for them to play the entire tournament. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may consider issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for some players, this will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
The PCB has not yet denied NOCs for BPL participation, but BPL teams are aware of the uncertainty surrounding Pakistan players and may plan to select replacement players.
The BPL is scheduled from December 26 to January 23, coinciding with Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka and a home T20 series against Australia at the end of January.
Players selected for the BPL include Saif Ayub, Khawaja Nafees, Safyaan Muqeem, Sahibzada Farhan, and Mohammad Nawaz, along with Jehan Dad Khan, Ehsanullah, Haider Ali, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Amir. Among them, Saif Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Nawaz, Usman Khan, and Abrar Ahmed are permanent members of Pakistan’s T20 squad.
Pakistan is scheduled to play three T20 matches at Dambulla Stadium on January 7, 9, and 11, which may affect the availability of players for the BPL.
