Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have launched Warrior-IX, the ninth edition of their annual bilateral counterterrorism exercise, reaffirming deep-rooted defence cooperation between the two countries.

The exercise, which commenced on 1 December 2025, centers on advanced counterterrorism operations aimed at strengthening interoperability, enhancing professional skills, and sharing contemporary battlefield practices.

The opening ceremony, held at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), Pabbi, was attended by senior military officials, including Mangla Corps Commander and Major General Bian Xiaoming, Deputy Chief of Staff of the PLA’s Western Theatre Command.
