Customs Enforcement Peshawar Seizes Smuggled Goods Worth PKR 50 Million
The truck was found to be loaded with a large quantity of non-duty-paid foreign-origin goods.
PESHAWAR – The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Peshawar has seized a major consignment of smuggled and contraband goods valued at PKR 50 million, along with the offending vehicle, during an operation conducted at Nizampur, Pindi Road on Saturday. The total value of the case stands at PKR 70 million.
According to officials, the Kohat Customs Division had been conducting discreet surveillance when they noticed a suspicious Hino truck passing through sensitive areas. The team continued monitoring the vehicle and finally intercepted it at a mobile checkpoint around 4:30 pm.
Upon inspection, the truck was found to be loaded with a large quantity of non-duty-paid foreign-origin goods. The seized items included:

15,000 sticks of assorted foreign cigarettes

2,200 kg of betel nuts

1,000 packets of Gutka

1,200 packets of hookah products
The driver failed to provide any import documents or legal proof of possession, resulting in the immediate seizure of the goods and vehicle under the Customs Act, 1969.
The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner Customs Omer Jan, with support from Inspectors Asif Nisar and Waqar Ahmad of Customs Enforcement Peshawar.
