Three policeman injured in Hangu bomb; ‘Afghan IED specialist’ killed in Tank

Police officers wounded in Hangu blast following a national security threat alert.

Peshawar – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – On Sunday, a bomb explosion hit a group of police officers on duty near a graveyard in Hangu’s Doaba area. The blast, which was set off by remote control, wounded three officers, including a senior police official.

A police team was searching the Paracha graveyard when the device exploded. The injured officers, named as SHO Imranuddin, Head Constable Jihad Ali, and Constable Abid Ali, were quickly taken to the main hospital in Hangu for medical care.

This attack happened just two days after the government sent out a serious warning. The alert specifically said that terrorists might use a motorcycle filled with explosives to target a police checkpoint or security team in the Hangu area.

In a separate event, security forces conducted a raid in Tank district and killed a dangerous Afghan bombmaker named Abu Dujana. While a few militants got away, the forces found and safely disarmed a large 30kg bomb, a suicide vest, and other weapons.
