Zardari asks Naqvi to help reduce Sindh-Punjab political tension

President Zardari instructs Mohsin Naqvi to ease rising political strains between Sindh and Punjab governments for national unity.

Punjab – Sindh – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Tuesday marked the second meeting in as many days between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi.

According to credible sources, the two leaders talked about the nation’s changing political climate, especially the escalating hostility between the governments of Sindh and Punjab.

According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tomorrow after speaking with President Zardari. The meetings take place during a period of increased political discourse in Punjab and Sindh, where tensions between the provincial administrations are becoming more apparent.

According to insiders, President Asif Ali Zardari and Mohsin Naqvi met for the second time in two days at Bilawal House Karachi. Their discussions focused on the current political situation and the ongoing tension between Sindh and Punjab.

President Zardari reportedly instructed the minister to play an active role in defusing the situation and promoting coordination between the two provinces.

President Asif Ali Zardari has also directed PPP leaders to adopt a cautious and constructive approach in political talks. His message, sources say, aims to prevent the current rhetoric from worsening tensions between Sindh and Punjab, both crucial political strongholds.

The meeting came after President Zardari stepped in to ease tensions between the Sindh and Punjab governments following a heated exchange over flood relief efforts turned into a public debate challenge between top provincial leaders.

Officials said Zardari emphasised the importance of resolving differences through dialogue and coordination at both federal and provincial levels. He is expected to review the situation and propose measures to de-escalate political tensions.

The latest friction stems from disagreements over flood relief operations following devastating floods that displaced millions across the country. Both Sindh and Punjab governments have accused each other of mismanagement and lack of transparency.
