ATC Issues Arrest Warrants for PTI Leaders in Sangjani Rally Case

The court ordered that the accused be arrested and presented before the court at the next hearing.

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub, Sheikh Waqas Akram, and Zartaj Gul in connection with the Sangjani rally case.

During the hearing held at ATC Islamabad, Judge Tahir Abbas Supra rejected Omar Ayub’s request for exemption from appearance and expressed frustration over the absence of all three leaders from court proceedings. “None of these individuals has appeared even once in this case,” the judge remarked.

The court ordered that the accused be arrested and presented before the court at the next hearing.

Representing the PTI leaders, lawyers Sardar Muhammad Masroor Khan, Amna Ali, and Murtaza Toori appeared before the court. The hearing was subsequently adjourned until October 20.
