President Zardari departs on 10-day visit to China
President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday departed for a 10-day visit to China, from September 12 to 21, on the invitation of the Chinese government.
According to a statement from the president’s spokesperson, Asif Zardari will visit several Chinese cities, including Chengdu, Shanghai, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where he will hold meetings with provincial leadership.
The discussions will encompass Pakistan-China bilateral relations, with a particular focus on economic and trade cooperation, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and future connectivity initiatives. The two sides will also exchange views on bilateral cooperation at multilateral fora.
The visit underscores the tradition of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China, reaffirming mutual support on issues of core interest, advancing economic and trade cooperation including CPEC, and highlighting their shared commitment to regional peace, development, and stability.
