
Hot, dry weather predicted across the country
ISLAMABAD: Hot and dry weather conditions will prevail across the country for the next 24 hours, according to the Meteorological Department.
As per the met department, the federal capital Islamabad will remain hot and dry on Friday with temperatures expected to reach 35°C. Strong sunshine and humidity are expected during the day. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight and drink plenty of water.
However, Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas may witness partly cloudy weather, with chances of light drizzle in the evening or at night.
LAHORE
In Lahore, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 117 points, which falls in the moderate range. The city and its outskirts are expected to remain partly cloudy. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 31°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26°C.
The Meteorological Department has further predicted that rainfall will return to Multan and adjoining areas from September 16, which could benefit crops in the region.
PESHAWAR
In Peshawar, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry. The maximum temperature may climb up to 40°C, while humidity has been recorded at 78 per cent. Due to heat and humidity, citizens are likely to face difficulties.
Health experts have advised people to consume plenty of water and fluids to stay safe from heat-related illnesses, while children and the elderly have been urged to take special precautions.
KARACHI
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported that Karachi will experience partly cloudy weather on Friday. The city is expected to remain hot and humid over the next 24 hours.
The current temperature is 27°C, with the maximum likely to touch 31–33°C. Westerly winds are blowing at a speed of 8 km/h, while humidity has reached 85 per cent.
Balochistan, most districts are also likely to remain hot and dry. The plains are expected to record higher temperatures, while some hilly areas may experience light evening breezes. The Met Office stated that in several districts of the province, temperatures will remain higher than the seasonal average.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also likely to remain hot and dry throughout the day.
