Three terrorists including commander neutralized in DI Khan operation

The funeral prayers of ASI Ashfaq were offered at Kohat Police Lines with full official honours.

Security forces killed at least three militants, including a key commander, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Luni area of Tehsil Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan, on Sunday.

According to security sources, the operation was launched following intelligence reports about militant presence in the area. A heavy exchange of fire took place, resulting in the death of the commander along with two associates.

Forces also seized a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the slain terrorists, who were involved in multiple attacks on security forces and wanted in several cases.

Security officials said the successful operation once again proves the forces’ resolve to crush terrorism and safeguard the region. Security forces reiterated their determination to wipe out militancy with the cooperation of the people.

It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohat district, one policeman was martyred and three terrorists were killed during an operation in the mountains of Darmalak.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat said ASI Ashfaq embraced martyrdom while two other policemen sustained injuries. In retaliation, three terrorists were neutralised, while others fled with injuries.
