Keshav Maharaj Reclaims Top Spot in ICC ODI Bowling Rankings
Sri Lanka’s Theekshana climbed to second, while India’s Kuldeep dropped to third.
Dubai: South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has returned to the summit of the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings following a match-winning performance against Australia, while Pakistan’s leading bowlers continue to slip in the latest update.
The 35-year-old left-arm spinner was named Player of the Match in Cairns after claiming 5/33 in South Africa’s 98-run win over Australia. His performance lifted him above India’s Kuldeep Yadav and Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana to reclaim the No. 1 ranking — a position he briefly held in late 2023.
Sri Lanka’s Theekshana climbed to second, while India’s Kuldeep dropped to third. West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales also made a significant move, jumping 17 places to 19th following a sensational 6/18 against Pakistan.
Pakistan Bowlers Struggle in ODI Rankings
No Pakistani bowler currently features in the top 10. Shaheen Afridi fell two spots to 16th, while leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed climbed 18 places to a joint 43rd position after a string of solid performances. West Indies’ Roston Chase continued his rise, moving up seven places to 67th.

India’s Shubman Gill retained his No. 1 spot in the ODI batting rankings, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam holding firm in second. West Indies captain Shai Hope climbed to seventh after his unbeaten 120-run knock against Pakistan. Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman currently sit at 27th and 28th, respectively.
