FIA Arrests PARC Chairman Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali Over Illegal Appointments

Launches Major Crackdown FIA has stated that more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

ISLAMABAD –(Naeem Mehboob)_he Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested the Chairman of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, on charges of illegal appointments and abuse of power.

According to the FIA, the chairman is accused of illegally recruiting 332 individuals against only 164 approved positions. The Director of Establishment at PARC, Ikhlaq Malik, has also been taken into custody in connection with the same case.

The FIA has launched a formal investigation and registered a case against Dr. Ali and 18 other PARC officials. The investigation was initiated following directives from the Public Accounts Committee.

FIA sources claim that bribes were allegedly taken in exchange for the illegal appointments. Raids are currently underway to arrest other officials and staff members implicated in the case.

Both Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali and Ikhlaq Malik will be presented in court today, where the FIA is expected to seek their physical remand for further investigation.

The FIA has stated that more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
