Ishaq Dar, Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi Hold Key Meeting on Regional Developments

Araghchi also called for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council to address the situation.

Istanbul – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a crucial meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, where both leaders discussed the evolving regional situation amid rising tensions.

Following the meeting, Ishaq Dar stated that the discussion centered around regional developments, with the Iranian Foreign Minister briefing him on the rapidly changing dynamics. Dar emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomatic engagement in maintaining regional stability.

In a separate media interaction in Istanbul, Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned recent U.S. military actions against Iran, calling them a violation of international law. He asserted that the American strikes on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities were not only an attack on Iran’s sovereignty but also a breach of the United Nations Charter.

“The U.S. President has deceived not just Iran, but his own nation,” Araghchi stated, expressing deep concerns over Washington’s aggressive posture. He stressed that Iran would never compromise on its regional sovereignty and would continue to defend its people and territory.

Araghchi also called for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council to address the situation. He criticized the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, accusing him of paving the way for this act of aggression.

The meeting between the two leaders comes at a critical time when regional peace and diplomatic channels face increasing pressure. Both sides reiterated the need for international cooperation to uphold sovereignty and ensure peace in the region.
